Who is eligible to stay at The Ballard House?

Patients who are receiving treatment for a life threatening or critical illness. A primary caregiver is required to stay with patients when receiving treatment. All primary caregivers must be 18 years of age, however there is no age restriction on a patient to qualify.

How do I get referred to The Ballard House?

All referrals must come from a (1) hospital or medical facility, (2) physician, social worker, or (3) service or community outreach organization.

What should I bring?

Bring any personal items you will need. We provide pillows, bed linens, towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, house cleaning supplies for each room.

How long can I stay at The Ballard House? 

A maximum of 90 days may be approved depending on availability when a complete application is received. A guest must vacate for one month and can reapply for an additional 90 days.

Are laundry facilities available?

Yes, there is a free laundry facility both up and down stairs. We provide all detergent and other laundry items needed.

Is there a cost to stay at The Ballard House?

No, The Ballard House offers temporary at no cost.

The Ballard House is fully supported by the community.

What are the check in and check out times?

Check in:

Weekdays: 2 pm - 7 pm

Weekends: 1 pm - 5 pm

Check out:

Sunday - Saturday by 11 am

Is there a kitchen where I can cook my meals?

Yes, we have a two full service kitchens where you are welcome to prepare your meals as well as a kitchenette in each guest suite where simple items can be prepared in the microwave.
